LEARN. PLAY. IMPROVE.
Welcome to the home of Forza United FC. We're a soccer club that recognizes that kids are, well...kids. And that means more than anything that they want to PLAY and they want to have FUN. But we also know that premier soccer players also want to compete at a high level and develop to the best of their potential. At Forza United FC we provide the environment and structure to enable all these things to happen. Read more to see how we do it.
Brief History:
We started our journey as a U10 team in the Fall of 2008, under the name of Red Thunder, which up until we came along had been a small girls-only club with just one or two teams formed each season. With a modest beginning, and many challenges along the way, we stuck to our core principles, such as prioritzing individual player development; offering lots of playing time; having a low cost structure; and fostering a player- and family-friendly environment...to rise from the depths of Maple to being able to compete effectively with the top programs in the region.
Our emphasis on developing players for long-term success is perhaps best illustrated by an objective review of the team's consistent and gradual advancement in the league hierarchy since the middle of the U11 year, the point at which MAPLE begins the "divisionalization" of its member teams (i.e., grouping teams based on merit/results):
> U11 -- Spr 2010...MAPLE Top 40...i.e., in the 5th group (Purple) of 8-team groups; 58 teams in all.
>> U12 -- Fall 2010...MAPLE Top 30...i.e., in the 3rd group (Orange) of 10-team groups; 48 teams in all.
>>> U12 -- Spr 2011...MAPLE Top 24...i.e., in the 3rd group (Orange) of 8-team groups; 51 teams in all.
>>>> U13 -- Fall 2011...MAPLE Top 20...i.e., in the 2nd group (Division 2) of 10-team groups; 42 teams in all.
>>>>> U13 -- Spr 2012...MAPLE Top 16...i.e., in the 2nd group (Division 2) of 8-team groups; 46 teams in all.
>>>>>> U14 -- Fall 2012...MAPLE Top 11...i.e., first place finish in the 2nd group (Division 2) of 10-team groups; 40 teams in all.
>>>>>>> U14 -- Spr 2013...MAPLE Top 10...i.e., in the 1st group (Division 1) of 10-team groups; 39 teams in all.
...notice a trend?
(Now consider that the team had a combined record of 1-12-3 with 7 GF and 59 GA during its inaugural U10 year!)
